Going to keep it very brief tonight. After work, I finally went to see Prometheus at Cinerama in 3-D with Erin and Steven. I enjoyed it, can recommend it, and was glad to have watched all the Alien movies so recently. It's not as good at Alien or Aliens but it's far superior to parts three and four. Do you need to have see any of them ever or recently to enjoy Prometheus? I don't think so. It's a solid sci-fi movie that's not stupid. That's as far as my review and criticism goes for today.
Other news, aimed at friends reading here. Due to my connections with Tickets.com (I'm their client, technically), I've somehow secured a private suite at Comerica Park on Monday, August 6th to see the Tigers play the Yankees. That means free tickets and two free parking passes. I'm recruiting any and all of you to come see the game and enjoy a nice perk with me while I'm on vacation. Right now, I have a suite for 8 people. If any of you pipe up here and that number goes higher, I think they have suites to accommodate up to 18 people. It seems likely that I'll be able to find 7 others, right?
And a final thing to mention. While doing more research and planning for my trip today, I found out there will be a bicycle race in Grand Rapids on July 28th. The
Herman Miller Grand Cycling Classic is a pro race, as well as an amateur race. I took initiative and signed up to volunteer for it. Is this of any interest to the rest of you? It's the same day
Halph Asian returns to Vietnam, so by my calculations, we will already be in Grand Rapids that morning to drop him at the airport.
