My friend is writing a paper for her pysch class. She's asked for some input on a subject we've all had to deal with. Friends: Fuck, or not to fuck?
Her question is this:
have you ever thought you really knew someone? I mean, know them on an intamate level as well as on the best friend level?
It totally sucks when you think there is something there but ends up just being another player... How can a best friend hide such things? One would think the other would notice.
Now I am not talkin' love or anything.. I am just takin' best friends that happen to have crossed that intamate line. LOL
But, it is still a let down to know that is all you are and all you will ever be. OK sometimes it isn't a let down just a blessing in disguise.
However there are the times that things are not as they appear and the best friend could be more and they aren't a player. But in all honesty, how can one really be sure?
Help me write my paper... give me your input and view on such matters... either short or long remarks will do...
Stacy's answer:
I think the problem here isn't someone being a player, but someone else taking "sex" as something more intimate than what it truly was.. just sex.
A guy is a guy, no matter how close of friends you are, a man still thinks about sex like, what is it once every 12 seconds or something like that? So in order to keep from getting hurt by the so called "player", the woman has to take responsibility and say, prior to sex, unless she too just wants sex and nothing else, "If we do this, where does it leave us?" Or better yet, "What are we sacrificing in order to get laid?"
If indeed both parties are in it for the fuck, with no feelings attached, then I say, go for it. Friends that fuck, are friends with great luck. But once you cross that imaginary line, where fucking isn't just fucking anymore.. then the party who's feeling those strange feelings needs to address it. If both parties feel the same about where the sex is leading, then BRAVO. If by chance, they don't, then the sex needs to stop. Otherwise someone is being lead on. Everyone knows that sex without both parties on the same page is trouble to say the least.
So, I hope that helped ya a bit. X's and O's. Anyone else have anything to add, or maybe disagree with? Please feel free to respond.
