my week, so far

Wednesday:
I worked 7a.m. until 4 p.m., and work was so dead. I played endless games of Solitaire, read magazines and watched "Days of Our Lives" throughout my shift. After work, me and my mom took a drive over the Bay Bridge. We wanted to buy my dad a Christmas gift from Chesapeake Gourmet. I got him a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of habinero hot sauce and a box of green tea. I bought some hot chocolate mixes and pink grapefruit/green tea for myself. I love gourmet shops. I always find the coolest stuff at those places. We also had dinner at The Narrows restaurant, and got seated right by the window overlooking the bay. I love that place. The food is awesome and the atmosphere is really romantic. It's a nice spot for a date, but I've never gone there with a significant other. Unfortunately, all of my dates are poor!

Thursday:
I ended up going to a different house for Thanksgiving this year. I guess you could say he's my distant uncle by marriage? Anyway, his house is in Pasadena under a hill, and he's got the coolest front lawn. There was a long wooden stairway leading down the hill to their front door, a fish pond with a fountain and a gazebo. It looked very Japanese. His whole house was surrounded by trees turning bold autumn colors. There was a stream behind the house that ran into a bigger body of water. You could see a bridge off in the distance. It was so gorgeous. Enough about the scenery, though. The food was deelish. I'm not a big fan of sweet potatoes, but they cooked some with marshmallows and brown sugar. Mmmm mmmm mmmmm. My Aunt's brother who was VERY drunk, was trying to hook me up with his 18 year old son. He succeeded in embarrassing the both of us. Talk about awkward.

Friday:
My best friend called to tell me that she's engaged. I'm happy for her, but I only have one single female friend left, and that scares the crap out of me. I'm not ready for marriage, but I still want single friends to have fun and cause trouble with. Damn. Anyway, I'm the maid of honor, which is a first for me.
Later, I had lunch with Tina at Snyders. We had crabcakes and cream of crab soup. We caught up on each others lives for a while. I met Stan afterwords to buy "Night of 1000 Elvis" tickets. We ended up going to a really cool, vintage clothing shop in Towson, to purchase them.
I never realized how many sushi places are in Towson. There's a sushi place on every block it seems. Is that really necessary? We stopped at a used bookstore later, and I bought some vegetarian cookbooks. I need to eat healthier. Oh yeah, I found a cool 1940's style, Betty Boop music box, at a comic book store for 50% off. Score!
