Get Fit Quick - errrrrrr.... help?

OK, here's a quandary.

I dont have enough cashy money to join a gym, so please don't suggest that.

I want to be able to run around and fight and stuff by the Moot, if not by then, by the Gathering. I am not a very fit person, in fact I am probably very UNfit. I can walk for ages, walking is no problem, but anything that gets my heart rate up makes me:

Bright red in the face
Completely out of breath
Wheeze like a muppet
Feel a bit sick
and possibly get a stitch bloody quickly.

Can anyone give me a few tips on improving my fitness levels (I recognise that I will not "be fit" by the Moot - it's only 4 effing weeks away... but I could do with an improvement none the less.)
