I was thinking today about Dylan Moran's critique about striving to reach your potential. He's definitely got a point. Sometimes some things are just best left alone.
I went through a phase for a couple of weeks once in my 20's where I didn't want to talk to any attractive men. I just wanted to look at them, because usually if I ended up talking to them, they would sorely ruin it somehow. I just wanted the mystique, not the reality, and so I simply contented myself by gazing at them from afar and would make a hasty exit if there was any indication that they were going to come talk to me.
