Happy new year to everyone on my flist. It's kind of late, but i figured better late than never.
I'm just so glad to finally have kicked 2008 to the curve. It was possibly the worst year ever. I lost so many things (and someones) dear to me. So, good bye and good riddance.
To kick start the year reading wonderful wonderful things I give you For keeps by smallacts. I've been lured to the world of bandom a little lately and this is my latest find. But I think even if you're not into it, and don't know anyone in bandom, you'd still love this story, because it is that good. For those in the know, it's a heartbreaking and heartwarming Brendon/Ryan highschool AU, with a little MCR thrown in. And both boys absolutely shatter your heart and mend it in turns. Just plain amazing.
I know I wanted to rec some very good SPN and J2 fics I've read lately, but I don't seem to be able find the links or remember the names or authors (did I mention this wasn't my year. I'm not on 2009 time yet).
BUT I continue to be obsessed with
poisontaster A Kept Boy 'verse, which she keeps making more a more wonderful and fleshed out. If there's anyone who hasn't read it, they should run over to her LJ, because there's no way for me to do it justice with a description.
