From a non-linear, non-objective viewpoint...

Day 01: Your Favourite Quote
Day 02: Your Favourite Episode

Yet AGAIN I started trying to be all encompassing and just failed, MISERABLY FAILED. I starting listing all my favourite episodes, and it ended up pretty being ALL of the episodes. This is the second time I've tried really really hard to isolate my favouritest thing about this show and ended up including JUST TOO MUCH. It is only the second day. Apparently I love Doctor Who. A LOT. Who knew? lulz.

The point is that my favourite episode has always moved around (if I've ever had just one) - I tend to judge an episode on the ones around it, so comparing inter-series favourites doesn't quite work. I might pick my favourites out of each series and then go from there.

The first time I got into Fandom and the reason I'm here now, was because I got swallowed up like many other teenage girls in Ten/Rose. Via the magic of the Big Finish Audio The Kingmaker (my favourite audio *without doubt*) I think, I went all classic!Who, which acted as a sort of Rosefen antedote, and I'm happy to say that any emotional attachment I once had to Rose and Ten has disappeared without trace.

Before that though, Doomsday was a favourite episode, and I watched New Earth like, a billion gazillion times. (I haven't watched it since 2007). Before that, The Unquiet Dead hit all of my BACK IN TIME! and oooh ghosts! kinks, and how can I mention Nine without talking about The Empty Child / Doctor Dances ? The very beginning of OMG THIS WRITER  GUY IS PRETTY GOOD, YEAH? Introducing Jack, the CREEPIEST CHILD EVER and "Everyone lives!" I enjoyed The Long Game too, and Father's Day was pretty devastating. The denounment of Bad Wolf,  where we find remember how wolves have featured throughout the series, and I suppose what was the beginning of Timey Wimey was something I loved. I loved that moment so much I remember it even now.

My crush on DT meant that I pretty much adored the whole of series two and was up to my ears in animated icons of Ten saying, amongst other things, "exactamondo" (I became an avid icon collector until I stopped the Ten/Rose shipping thing); watching them back now they just don't quite work for me. But they were fun romps while they lasted, and The Christmas Invasion is still possibly my favourite Christmas episode.

There's always been something about Smith & Jones that I've loved too (the timey wimey?) and The Shakespeare Code was a favourite for a while purely for references and one liners alone. Human Nature and Family of Blood were lauded by critics and Fandom alike but they didn't really do anything for me; then Utopia came along and OMG how could I not love it? Ok, so pretty devoid of plot but WOAH Bombshells enough to last a whole series of Top Gear and enough Ten/Jack to make your eyes water and "unfs" escape from your mouth without knowing it. Daym, I shipped it. The finales, however, were the beginning of Rusty Goes Over The Top No I Mean Really Over The Top. I didn't like them.

Then there's The Unicorn and the Wasp - various HISTORICAL MYSTERY luvvins, which is the best kind of luvvins, sometimes. And actually, The Next Doctor may have been titillatingly NOT about The Next Doctor but it was entertaining and enjoyable and so much steampunk you could have run a very steamy punk shop with supply exceeding demand. David Morrisey as Jackson was brilliant; I had so much sympathy for his character and he fitted right in with DT and co.

*gasps for breath*

NOW I TALK ABOUT ZEE MOFFAT EPS YEEEEESSSS

... I like ALL of them. The Eleventh Hour was so damn refreshing after Rusty made it all about emoemoemo and setting fire to the moon or something, and I love how resourceful Eleven was, even if he was (to begin with) a bit too much like Ten for my liking. The companion-lite episode was pretty cool too - I didn't expect it to be all that much and yet I watched The Lodger again only a few weeks ago and it was still brilliant. Nice to see it's not just a one-off, either ;P

I HAVE  SEEN THE BIG BANG ABOUT A THOUSAND AND A MILLION TIMES AND I AM A BIT IN LOVE WITH  IT. No, not really, but I have watched it A LOT. It's just amazing. In my review, I realised that this finale was one that actually felt like it was wrapping up a story rather than just EXPLODING in a lot of ways, and it's still soooooo good, ohmagud. I was also glad to see Moff do a happy Christmas Special, for once. Or a least one with a positive spin, I suppose. Some of the bits were just beautiful - that song haunted my mind for days, and my the quote I listed as my favourite comes from A Christmas Carol.

Finally finally we move onto this series. I'd say it was too early to judge since we're not even up to ep 4 yet, but you know what, I'm GOING TO JUDGE. You know why? Because The Impossible Astronaut was THE EPITOMY of Doctor Who. Matt was PERFECT as a timey wimey travelsome Doctor, River became more than just "spoilers" but an ACTUAL CHARACTER and OT4 OMG; Karen ACTED HER LITTLE SOCKS OFF and it confused and dazzled and entertained and fucking FREAKED OUT everything all at the same time... Oh, just... good writing, good plotting, good acting. Unff.

In a similar bout of unfy goodness, one word: BLINK.
