The Decade that nearly is Was.

I'm watching The Noughties - Was That It? and it's interesting but wierd. For a start everyone's talking like they're completely over or that they were brilliant, neither of which are true. It's interesting to see the decade I've known so well be discussed so easily and in such a comedic way, and it's a bit of a blast from the present too.

The only thing is, is that it's giving me a bit of a headfuck - some of these things haven't been around for that long, and I thought they just what happened. Celebrity magazines, the efficiency of China, atheism and the rise of coffee houses - all of them are apparently only a 2000s thing.

And that's not all. That fact - that my life has happened during this particular time - means that my world actually is different from yours. Something I've been thinking of recently has been the way it seems definite that when you get older, you moan at the world. Indeed, tv has even made a show about it. Several. And maybe it's sort of true - the world is getting worse, the country is going to the dogs. Because it's changing, moving further and further from what you think you know: getting 'worse'. No-one likes change, but you can't stop it. Thing is though, it's not quite 'change'; it shouldn't be called that - it's more what's happening, and then your Beginning, literally. It's not that everything else changes too much; it's that YOU don't change enough.

Then again, I quite like it. I'm sort of biased, because it feels like my decade. Maybe it is.

woah, telly, what is this fuckery?, public post, my brain makes no sense, this child's been bummed in the face!
