We saw Chuck and Larry, starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James today. It was pretty funny actually. Not wildly funny but there were plenty of laughs. It wasn't as homophobic humor as i thought it might be. I thought it would just be "oh, look, two guys doing gay stuff, har-har". they actually had a few moments of legitimate attention to gay discrimination, like showing Chuck and Larry, who are New York firefighters, become outcasts at their station house because all the other guys are phobic.
They pretend to be gay so Larry, played by Kevin James, could change his pension plan so that if he dies, his kids, the singing, tapping, splits-doing son and the baseball-watching tomboy daughter, will be provided for. His late wife was listed as the benificiary and there was stupid loopholes that wouldnt let him change it without remarrying.
Jessica Biel plays a lawyer they go see to find out how much trouble they could get in for fraud and Adam Sandler's man-whore character Chuck wants to get in her pants. Really, her role is entirely superfluous. She was an excuse to add some T&A to a movie of 'gay' characters because they wont have their own T&A. Well, Chuck does in the form of asian Hooters girls before they 'go gay'. But yeah, she's hot but pointless.
In general, amusing movie and more gay friendly than you'd expect. It was better than the new Harry Potter movie.
