Fuck you very much, American media.

I was randomly reading articles after i checked my e-mail and stuff and I saw one that said Tyra Banks was speaking out about her weight gain. Not really a Tyra fan but I clicked just to see what it was all about. And I thought what it was about was pretty awful.

Some people in the media were calling her Tyra Porkchop and making fun of her ("America's Next Top Waddle") because she doesnt weigh the same as she did when she was a supermodel. In People she said she's about 30 lbs heavier than she was in 1997 when she was in Sports Illustrated, and she's at about 161 lbs.

The only difference i am seeing in her body is that her tummy isnt as flat and her hips are a bit wider. She's hardly a porker with rolls and a double chin. She's got nice curves, no gut, and her thighs are relatively slim and firm. Thousands of big girls would still kill to have a body like Tyra's, even if it isnt good enough for Sports Illustrated or Victoria's Secret anymore.

I just found it appalling. No wonder young girls feel like cows if they cant fit into a size 6. Even (former) supermodels are called fat. A normal girl just stands no chance anymore. And if you have gained weight over the holidays or cuz you quit smoking, pfft, forget it. May as well pack for fat camp, chubby.

Its disgusting how people are treating it. Frankly, I'm GLAD Tyra has gained weight. She talks to girls a lot about body confidence and accepting how you look and it rings so much more true coming from someone who is getting flak for not being Kate Moss, modeling's take on a starving Ethiopian child.

Since when is being a total coke-fiend sexy? When did malnourishment become the In thing?
