So from the utter high comedy of Tap This to Prints which I have to be honest left me incredibly sad and waaaahhhhhhh for Changmin.
It was exactly the right place to dial down the pace before the finale, but it really caught me un-awares and I fell so much for Changmin in this one.

I knew Yunho couldn't be there (someone told me the ending by this point lol) but that Changmin's sisters and folks weren't there either just made me incredibly sad for him. Like proper devastated sad. Changmin being so wrapped up in his career and relationship that he didn't have anyone else who could help him reflect on how far he's come. It's all about his individual hard graft to make it in fashion, despite family - and being so incredibly wrapped up in the amazing partner that is Yunho. The little nuggets you shared earlier about them lazing around the house together and just getting so much contentment out of each other's company (and all the sex)

And then not only his speedy random design in the simple dress having a hidden meaning of love, but that it's everyone else who can see it - Milhye being so sweet to help a competitor who if flailing on the runway, but also Madame Oh and Kyu seeing it and helping to verbalise it because it's so obvious to the whole world how much love there is between Yunho and Changmin.

Such a distinctive section, and while at odds with the others, it's the perfect tone and placement. It's like the sorbet of the banquet. Clever. Really, really clever.

And then onto SkypeSex. Starts off so romantic - love the idea of Yunho's surprise in Italy (Yunho is good at these romantic surprises, yes?)
Then the double lol of Siwon have SKypeSermon and Changmin refusing to pass on any messages to Yunho.

And then my favourite line in the whole fic - the one that I have to stop myself blurting out randomly at work: “Puppies, look, it’s Grumpy Daddy!"
While Yunho baby-talking to the dogs is cute in itself, having a Grumpy Daddy and a Happy Daddy is totally made of mush and Changmin being SO PISSED OFF - but completely loving it at the same time is perfect.

And when he's annoyed Changmin calls Yunho "Jung" but I be Yunho has never called him "Shim" because this Yunho just doesn't do grumpy. Love it!

Plus they're on a time-limited call but Yunho still goes off screen to settle the dogs, rather than have them out of the way first. That's so very Yunho.
Also very Yunho to remember the cameraman and be so sweet.

Also very Yunho of being absolutely talented at Skype sex and how they both know the other's cues and turn-ons inside out so that they can make each other come in 10 minutes. When Changmin keeps his suit of for sex he's Posh Boy and when Yunnie gets naked and covered in come he's a total Skank.

I thought you were going to have CCTV in the designers' room too - but leaving the mike on was even funnier. I want a copy of that audio tape (and for them magically to have been speaking in English and not Korean lolz)

And then the final piece is so fitting (by the way, these fashion puns are truly accidental). Again I'm spoilt because I knew what was coming, but I love how you built it up so it was a genuine surprise for Changmin.

Story of Changmin's whole life summed up in one sentenceChangmin doesn’t want to be paired with Yunho. Except he does.

I love that precious design time would be taken up with precious kisses. I love even more how no-nonsense Wookie is.

It's adorable that Milhye is in on the proposal so she organises the jacket sneakiness, and the suggestion that the whole production crew is in on it too... Yunho goes to incredible lengths for his Changminnie.

Sums up whole relationship: oh God, I love you but you are such an idiot.”

Except it doesn't because for all he plays the fool, your Yunho in this is the smartest, cleverest guy.

More about clever, smart Designer Jung in next comment box, because I just bust this one!!

You put so much tiny blink-and-you-miss-it detail into this story of how much Yunho works to keep Changmin happy.

He gives Changmin plenty to bitch and moan about, and doesn't call his boyf on the fact that he secretly loves everything he bitches and moans about (exception being Siwon)

Changmin is utter haute couture and has to cope with all the expectation and stress that brings and all the travel and being away from home, but Yunho always makes sure he has a loving home and loving arms to come back to.

In the meanwhile, Yunho is turning out really awesome ready-to-wear but still making sure he does a damn good job.
You don't get an order for 14 pairs of jeans from MimiTim without being brilliant at what you do, plus the co-ordination and image selection of the Tap This campaign was pure fashion genius.

But Yunho lets Changmin be the big high fashion name of the partnership because he knows Changminnie needs the constant recognition to help to keep reminding himself he made the right choice to defy his father.

Look at you. You give me an utter crack-fic and yet still manage to get so much deep-and-meaningful layered in places that absolutely shine without spoiling the line of the hilarity.

When it comes to stories you are an absolutely winning designer and seamstress. Utter perfection.

(Your comments are forever my favourites. Forever there to help me appreciate the fics all the better and with more depth *_* I'm a fan ♥
And you mentioned several things I was totally going to talk about but got distracted, so there's an extra dose of starry eyes for that~)

Wow, that's so kind of you.
I'm very lucky in that I get to read each section pretty much as soon as it's written so by the time it's all posted together I've read several times and had a chance to marshal my thoughts and know for certain which bits linger in my brain.
In this one the lingering bits were definitely the clever how-much-they-are-in-love bits that were subtly put between the bits that made me laugh so hard on the first-read.

I very much enjoyed your comment too as it wasn't there while I had the window open to post mine thoughts, and so after I posted it was reassuring to see you'd liked a load of the points I'd really liked too - especially Go Ara Go Away. I think I need that printed on a t-shirt.

Not at all~
Even if you do read it earlier, you always put everything in words in such a wonderful and yet easily digestible manner. I'm rather crappy at interpreting stuff and sometimes I need to be poked with some things in the eye to notice them and your comments do the best job at it. XD
(And you're so right re the lingering bits in this particular fic, I think. I'm looking forward to rereading this many times to soak in all that :3)

Lol, we probably all sound like such haters when the truth is very simple and that is - enough is enough. Time for some new female faces, really.
...And I need Changmin to wear this tshirt.

And another thing.

I want to gush about how well you always cement all of your Homins in romance - it should be impossible to see a coherent comparison between Tension and Spark and this, and yet it's really strong even though one is so tragic and this is so ridiculously frothy.

I was just wandering around home and musing about FFS when I made a very similar comparison XD Idk, the way I see it, both portrayals are so soft? At the heart of it. The settings of both stories couldn't differ more but this more than one aspect they have in common.
Blah, I'm not good with words but yes. XD

Thank you ♥ Now if only I could remember that other random spin-off ficlet idea we talked about that involved Yunho in a paddling pool and a wet t-shirt. I wonder why that image is burned into my mind?

I'd like to pretend that I remembered George Bernard Shaw's comment that in order to construct comedy, one must also add tragedy as a balance before the top-note of a story. Except the 'sorbet' (good description) of Changmin not having any of his family turn up for the print challenge wrote itself and took me by surprise. *Then* I remembered GBS's sterling advice. At least I Made It Work.

Yep, Designer Jung is a very smart cookie. Eh, they're both smart, but in such different and yet complementary ways. It's the balance thing again. That will never not be perfect.

Allow the flawless Joanna Coles to have the final word:

Also - one and a half fics to go til I complete the challenge!

I bet lovely Joanna would love to see Changmin and Yunho wrestling like puppies without a sack. I keep thinking about them holding each other from behind in the Catch Me teaser and wanting to see more of it. MUCH more of it. Changmin isn't usually so touchy feely, but I think it's a very good look for him :D
