Eek gads. Not ready for Christmas.
One parade down, one tomorrow- the spirit is building at least. Silly but I'm most excited about the gingerbread cookies I'm baking tomorrow. Using Alton Brown's recipe with crystallized ginger. Yummy.
I mixed the dough tonight and the smell of ginger is everywhere.
I've been helping to foster two kittens that need a home. We got them when they were about 2 wks and bottle feeding them is one of the cutest things ever. They have a new foster mom now (we weren't getting any work done at work- the boss walked by the office and I was on all fours, butt up in the air, crawling to get a runaway kitty). But I'm still trying to help find them a home. The orange one is an adorable little boy and the extra teeny black one is a girl and she was my favorite. Some well meaning rental guest at the resort took the mom cat back to NY for her feline rescue because she was so enamored with her and she didn't realize she was leaving kittens. Boo, hiss.
The week was exhausting and the stress of being sad about them not having a home has taken a toll. I would take them in a heartbeat if I could but I can't have four cats in a townhouse and Boo just wouldn't recover.
