last night i saw Dave Chapelle's episode of Inside the Actors Studio for the second time. i remember liking the stuff he said the first time i saw it, and (not surprisingly) i liked it the second time i saw it too. thoughts like...
"you can't let the world define who you are."
AND
"this could be the greatest country in history, but we need to start with an open dialogue"
he went on to talk about how even people who aren't racist benefit from racism, and therein lies the problem. and it's true. you can't look at a person and not see race. you can't look at a person and not see gender. but we can have an honest discussion about the things that we do see, and the judgements that we make - whether consciously or not.
on a different note...there are a few other exciting things in my life. jamie, spencer & i signed a lease at a new place around the corner. a full house for just the 3 of us, with laundry and a gas stove and a driveway. i'm thrilled.
and while none of you probably care about this...but i had a really great yoga practice this morning.
