Here's my future...
I forget that people still use LJ as a source to keep updated on people. I've gotten a few emails from people asking what my gameplan is for next year...so if you already know, feel free to skip this. If not, here you go:
The law school application process went really well. I'm happy to report that I was accepted to all of my schools (yay!) with the exception of Seattle University which STILL HASN'T GOTTEN BACK TO ME!!! C'est la vie. So after some stressful and careful consideration, I've decided to go to the University of San Francisco for the following reasons:
1. Fatty Scholarship. It'll be fantastic to get out of law school with very little debt.
2. Absolutely amazing public interest program. I can get certified in that specialty which would be pretty nifty seeing that's what I want to go into.
3. Insane amount of externship opportunities (present before the UN, work on Death Penalty cases, actually try cases with a DA/Public Defender...) I already have picked 6 that I want to do and clearly I won't have enough time.
4. Really great legal writing/moot court program
5. I'll actually get to live in SF. After living out here for 5 years, I'll be able to live it up in the big city.
6. Most of you live here (with the exception of Tiffany and Kate who I still miss dearly)
There are lots of other random reasons, but that's where I'm at. I went to the newly admitted law school day last weekend and sat through a class, a bunch of seminars, and got to meet some of my future classmates. So far so good.
Now that all of that is settled, I feel like I can relax a little. Matt and I are in the process of trying to figure out exactly where we want to live and seeing that our lease is up in July, we're kinda short on time. But I think it'll all work out.
In other news, I'm flying home in a few weeks...Chi-town kids get ready, here I come...
