I had this exercise in my social problems in american society class and i was curious to see what everyone else's opinion would be.
You are a surgeon at a large hospital. Your committee must make a very important decision. Several patients need a heart transplant. There is only one heart donor at this time. All patients could recieve the heart. Which patient would you choose to recieve the heart? Why???

A famous brain surgeon at the height of her career. Single, black woman. No children. 31 years old.
A 12 year old concert musician. Japanese girl.
A 40 year old teacher. Hispanic male, two children.
A 15 year old pregnant woman. Unmarried, white, no other children.
A 35 year old roman catholic priest.
A 17 year old waitress. white, high school drop out. Helps support her family with her earnings.
A 38 year old scientist close to discovering a cure for AIDS. Chinese woman, no children, lesbian.
