DRABBLE TAG

A year ago today this fine community was founded. To honor the occasion (and celebrate our beloved ship, and generate fic), I would like to try starting a drabble tag! I've played this a couple of times in Doctor Who fandom: the object is that you start with one or a few promtps. Someone writes a drabble for one and suggests 3 more prompts, and so ( Read more... )

Walking alongside Cain as they wove their way through the resistance camp, Glitch couldn't help but notice how often their small, strange group caused those around them to quiet their conversations. Or how many people seemed to come over to talk to Jeb, with seemingly pointless excuses.

Leaning close to Cain's ear, completely unaware of this simple intimacy, he commented, "They treat your son like some kind of local God."

Cain turned his head, coming within inches of brushing his lips against Glitch's cheek. Neither of them noticed. "Well, in a way, he could be seen that way. The Gods are said to be able to rise from the dead and lead devoted followers into battle against evil. He spent time in the suit, which most people consider a living death."

"But...he's just a man," Glitch frowned. "Besides, you spent a heck of a lot longer in one of those things and no one's bowing to you."

With a shrug, Cain shoved his hands into his pockets as he walked. "I don't know about that. You, DG, Raw...the three of you seem pretty eager to follow me into the depths of Hades."

Glitch snorted and bumped his shoulder against Cain's. "That's just because we like you so much. Can't let anything happen to that pretty head of yours."

"Pretty, huh?" Cain grinned and took advantage of the moment to cup the nape of Glitch's neck, hiding the stroke of his thumb under the long curls. "I see my Godlike powers have gotten to that half-a-brain of yours, too."

"We'll just see about that, if we make it through the hell-fire on the heels of our great leader."

"You mean Jeb?"

Glitch chuckled as they approached a large tent, Jeb and Raw already ducking inside. "We both know there's no chance you'd let your boy go into the Tower. You know perfectly well I meant you, Oh Mighty Cain."

Cain pulled Glitch close to him for a moment before they separated. "First, we've got a prisoner to deal with."
