well, a world without truth would be a world without ethics, a world where it really wouldn't matter if i killed you or not, a world where right and wrong do not exist. believing in nietzsche's philosophy is basically believing in nihilism as far as i can tell.

now, nietzsche also wrote a whole lot about the arts and aesthetics. but he describes great art as stemming from the fusion of the dionysian and the apollonian. he said (and this means) that art based in ethics and reason cannot be great. for what reason i have yet to discover.

also, why does there have to be "something" to the postmodern point of view? because there is an objective truth that says if many people believe in something there has to be something to it? that right there tends to bash postmodernism right in the face.

i admit that i myself am still figuring out a lot of things, but i would just encourage you to explore other philosophies, ones that explore the nature of objective truth and how it can influence aesthetics.

and, yes, you know me

who am i you ask?

well, i am a thing that thinks, therefore, i am, i objectively exist in some form because i can use my mental facilities to uncover this basic truth. my mental facilities allow me to perceive some world whether it be a falsehood or a truth, but my mental facilities also allow me to consider this information at a meta level, allowing me to realize that i am producing thought, allowing me to realize that i exist in some form. i may not be able to discover for certain what that form is at this time, but i can be sure that i exist, thus, giving me a whole lot of reason to believe that there are many objective truths about this existence.
