Whoa now, I'm started to feel I'm not ready to leave SLO.
I have so many hiking trails that I haven't been able to experience yet and still want to. My favorite coffee shop has finally opened a branch downtown close to my house. The weather is SO beautiful and I want to stay here to enjoy it because home will only be monotonous responsibility.
Drats. If I keep my room till August and no one moves in, I think I will be splitting my time between Bay Area and SLO because for $550/month, it doesn't make any sense to not use my room at all. Eff that. I'm contemplating if I want to find someone to sublease my room, or does that open a can of worms because then it's a total stranger moving into the house who could potentially trash and destroy everything. OH the humanity....responsibilities are NO fun.
Funny though, the people I hang out with the most at school all are in a major that was listed on one of Yahoo's article's as being the best employment opportunities for that industry. PT, bmed, civil, and mechanical. Meanwhile I work in CS. Cal Poly has got their stuff together - holler!
But I digress. It's week 6 and time is REALLY winding down. There are very few weekends left to do anything between going home, going to the mountains on Memorial Day weekend, and studying for neuroanatomy. Concerned I is.
However, in the mean time to better fuel my procrastination habit, it's been great reading all the articles related to getting Osama bin Laden. Although I don't feel the need to celebrate his death, it's a relief I think for everyone to have such a monumental achievement from the President and the military. There have been some great discussions floating around and it's really interesting to read and watch people argue, or in the current case (yet surprising case) agree on things. It can't be said enough that President Obama gets the majority of the credit, but forgetting Bush's involvement in setting up the infrastructure against terrorism absolutely has to be recognized.
All I know is that it would have been an annoying bore to watch President Bush's face gloat if he had gotten bin Laden under his administration. Although he would had said more of less what Obama said, his delivery would have made me want to throw off the tv and pretend he never existed.
Meh, hopefully people will start taking a bigger interest in the special missions carried out by special tasks forces rather than mass occupation in foreign country. It's cheaper and damn it, I would be annoyed if another country was occupying my country too.
