Boring people with economics

Roleplaying with an economist fot years combined with wanting toknow why the world is so broke has lead to me reading a lot of theory and then boring anyone who will stand still long enough.
The key thing I've learned is that our dominant economic paradigm is bollocks. Not only did our main stream economists completly fail to predict the crash of 2008 but they still can't adequatly explain it and most importantly have not revised their theories based on the evidence that the old theories were incomplete/wrong.

Most of our world governments are still reading from the same books which gotus into this mess and we let them because we've also been taught to follow the same theories based on broken assumptions. With the collapse continuing, despite denial and claims of a jobless recovery, we are seeing more austerity and stupidity from government everywhere.

Nothing will change until things get so bad we have a revolution or enough people learn how things really work that our politicians are forced to stop repeating the same failed dogma. It is essential that as many people as possible make the effort to get a minimum understanding of how things like money actually work. And rather than making amature attempts to explain things I recommend this book
http://mosler2012.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/7deadly.pdf. its short and easy to follow and at the level of detail suitable for normal people rather than economists. Which is just as well given how few economists really understand anything.
