I can't remember what the official tip is here but doesn't having an official tip kill the purpose of giving a tip? It's their job for which they are getting paid for, the tip comes as a thank you for a good job, right? So shouldn't the tip be proportional to the service rather than having a set tip?

lol I'll shop and you pay XD that does sound fun even for someone who isn't a big fan of shopping.

Yeah, I guess there were lot's of people who didn't tip at all, or gave too little. I guess the official tip value is the way they found to say: "If you liked the service than the appropriate value for tipping is...."

You're allowed to say you don't want to tip, but it just made things easier for everyone and most restaurants here include the value at the bottom of the bill. This restaurant we went, however, included a little bit more.

it makes me wonderwhere the entire concept of a tip came from *is a geek* I wonder if wikipedia can answer that for me... *goes to check*
