(no subject)
An update....
So it seems like forever since I did a proper update and well I really haven't had time. Actually I shouldn't be updating now, but my Theatre History class is canceled so why not!? So I've been in school for a month now and it has been kicking my butt! I'm taking an advanced acting class - which is great and I need that type of experience - but it is a lot of work and a lot of work outside of class!! We are doing improv for security officers - so they can learn real life situations and we are learning improv....so its kinda cool. Next I have to start writing my one woman show - that is our final project! So I'm trying to do some research with that. Next is my Theatre History class....which honestly isn't hard - just a lot of freaking reading and shit. One of my classes hasn't started yet...it will start half way through as a second semester class. And then...piano lessons. Arrgh! Don't get me wrong....I love music. But I used to play a lot so now I'm just kinda re-learning - but I remember things and then somethings I don't....the main thing is I never have time to practice. I just don't have the time to do that- I'm usually reading! So enough about classes....I'll get through all of them some how.
I got cast in a show called The Dining Room By A.R. Gurney. I was thrilled to be cast and honestly I worked my ass off this summer preparing for the audition. Auditions were early September and now we start rehearsals today! She made us do a lot of homework on the script before we started rehearsals...like characters analysis and things like that. The director is also my advanced acting prof...and I've been in class with her for the past year with other acting classes. She really pushes me and kicks my butt...but I totally need it to get further with my acting. So I'm very excited to start rehearsals because I love the show and I want to get started on it and dive in! But I also know that having rehearsals 5 days a week is gonna kill me! I'll be rehearsing Monday ---Thursday and most likely work on Friday nights and then Saturday mornings bright and early at 9am - back to rehearsals!
Another thing...So I thought I was going to graduate this Spring...as in Spring 2007...NOPE! I had a meeting last week with my advisor and she was like...yea that is never going to happen. Shit! So I transferred my second year and apparently a few things didn't transfer so I have possibly 40 extra credits that i need to be taking. She suggested adding two minors....mainly cause then I have a minor and not just random extra classes. So I was really really really bummed. I thought I'd be done and be able to start getting out there and getting professional jobs. But I'm trying to look at it well, I do love school. So I'll be able to have a minor and also be able to do some more college shows - which are always great for me. So if you have any suggestions for any minors....send them my way. I'm thinking English - since I have a few classes for it anyways. I'm also looking at Environmental Studies....So I'll see how things turn out over the next few weeks as I start to re-plan my next spring semester!
I'm now just really looking forward to a weekend in October...it's a surprise so I really have no idea. But Jake is taking me on a little weekend and I'm just looking forward to some yummy food, long nappy naps, and whatever else he has planned. I don't know anything....I kinda have an idea - but I think he may have changed it on me. He isn't letting me plan anything so I don't know what he's got going on....but its nice and I can't wait!
So now that was long! But well worth it I think...since my updates are nothing recently.
Off to start warming up for my voice lesson today and then coming back to maybe take a nap before my rehearsal at 6:30.
It is a BEAUTIFUL day today....I wish I could spend it outside! :o)
