*poke* My mom is teaching me how to quilt now. I have all of the pieces made for my first one, I just need to cut them to size and sew them together (stripes sewn into rectangles that need to be cut into squares, etc). I might be able to share my shaky knowledge if you want. The quilt I'm making (Jacob's Ladder) is really simple and fun. I need to get myself a mat (wait, I think I might have one) and a straight edge+rotary tool. It would be fun to have someone to quilt with. (Cutting fabric into little tiny pieces by ones lonesome is very boring and time consuming. Besides, its good to have someone around to dial 911 when I cut my fingers off--JK!)

lol there is the lighter but ....uhm, don't try to torch acrylic (melty plastic--bad). Let's see....knitting blogs....i love them. Let me show you them.

Grumperina

She can be annoyingly superior sometimes but she makes pretty things.

Laurie

Very funny, and her blog is about more than knitting. The real knitting that she does is sort of low key easy stuff, but she's still fun.

Ann and Kay at Mason Dixon

Also funny, they blog to each other--they are sort of ocd which i greatly appreciate.

Sheep in the CityNot entirely sure why I read this one....but I'm always amazed at people who buy such a quantity of yarn ...oh to have that much money to blow! (I wouldn't do it on yarn ( ... )

Yeah. But, ya know, I can dream. *winks* I don't think I could EVER set fire to yarn...

Used to read Grumperina. "annoyingly superior" Maybe that's why I stopped, lol.

That Ann and Kay at Mason Dixon is giving me issues. Google reader and all. Not a feature I understand. Yet. *puts 'figuring that out' on to do list*

Bookmarked the rest to read later. Thank you!!

YOU HAVE BEEN GONE FOREVER! *snuggleglomps* I saw your post during one of my hectic days and didn't have the time to flail at you over there. Hope things are good with you!

Ah ha! Another beader! XD

Ravelry is for knitters/crocheters. Does this anwswer your question? It's basically a giant Show & Tell. *winks* Folks post pictures of the things they've done (or want to do) and most of their gear. Gear = needles, hooks, books, patterns, yarn, whatnot. It is handy because you can see what other folks used for a pattern that you are considering... and see how it turned out and what they've done different. They also have boards, which means that a VARIETY of topics are covered. Hee!

Glad you are back. Even if you are going off again. XD Have fun with your traveling!

Awww. I can't imagine being gone from my online friends as long as you were. *snuggles you some more*

The most important thing - while traveling or otherwise - is that you have fun! XD But we'd love to know what fun you do have while you are away. *winks*
