Snatch the pebble from my hand...

It's really hard to keep busy when there are no classes. Even if I do have a full-time job, I still have a huge chunk of free time, I mean all the job really takes is my 8am - 5pm. So, after a hard day's work, I usually find myself sitting in front of the T.V. I just couldn't take that, so for the past few weeks now, I've been working on a little project. I'm trying to learn more about my Chinese heritage. I've been reading a lot of Tao, Zen and other Chinese philosophy stuff. Also, I just bought 2 very interesting books. Both of which are collections of Chinese short stories, one is from the Tang dynasty and the other one from the early Qing dynasty, both are very enjoyable.

I then tried looking for something more distinctly fukienese, or at least, southern Chinese as most of the things I've found were central and northern Chinese culture. That's when I found the temple, it's a south shaolin temple. Sounds really old and traditional, but it's actually a regular martial arts school in New Jersey that teaches southern kung fu and the sifu there was trained in a fuchian temple. So for the past three weeks now, I've been going to New Jersey religiously. Not only am I learning kung fu there, I also get to talk to people who are interested in Chinese philosophy.

Definitely proud to be Chinese! :)
