Dugal wants a white linen long sleeved tunic to wear under his black linen elbow-length sleeved tunic for entourage duty. All I have is a blend of some kind that has a semi-floral vine-type tone-on-tone pattern. He feels it's too feminine, and I agree. However, he said, since it was the only white fabric I had in enough quantity, it would be OK.
Since I had a small reimbursement check for Beggar's site tokens, I decided to spend it at fabrics-store.com. He wasn't thrilled -- he hates spending money on himself -- and tried to talk me out of it, again saying the fabric I had was fine.
I said, "OK, look, you buy little things for me and you make me things all the time, because it makes me happy. It makes you happy to make me happy. It will make me happy to buy this white linen and make you a tunic like you want. Don't deny me that."
He really couldn't argue.
I ordered it this morning.
It's a win-win: he gets the plain comfy linen tunic he wants, and I get make him what he really wants. Happiness all around.
