House, "Halfwit"

House was unbelievably fantastic tonight. It was perfect television for me. Sent me through an array of emotions, which always means good television to me. I don't know if it was the shock of getting House back after three long weeks or if I'm just insanely tired, but I started crying a lot during this episode. In fact, I was crying during most of it, muttering to myself: "He's playing a prank, this is a prank, House is not dying."

I have to say, as House/Cameron 'shipper I'm having mixed emotions about the kiss. Yes: SQUEE, they fucking kissed. HOWEVER: the circumstances BLEW. Don't get me wrong, it was a hot kiss (did you see the tongue! He totally gave her tongue), and I played it over and over again, but the payoff wasn't there. However, "If you want a sperm sample come back later without the needle" (or however it actually went) was an awesome response. I suppose I'm looking for more true emotions from House, as if Cameron is the one that can bring them out without him making a joke about them. Which, I have to say, she did a damn fine job of shutting him up when she touched his face. He shut right the hell up. He looked as if he was thinking: "she's not actually going to do this, is she?"

Hugh Laurie played the kissing scene so well. I could see House struggle with it at first. His eye lilting shut for a second and opening, and then finally closing and truly giving into the kiss for at least a moment before he caught on to her shananigans.

I thought it funny that he didn't immediately break the kiss once he figured her out, instead arching his eyebrow in that curious way and grabbing her first. Lovely.

Chase's reaction when Foreman says to House that he should be so happy he should be having sex with Cameron was awesome, subtle, but awesome. We all know Chase is more invested in this sex partners thing with Cameron than she is -- and if someone didn't, they better know now! It was a lovely subtlety.

I'm not a Huddy fan, but the interaction was cute and I have to say, Cuddy got my biggest LOL when she shot House down and told him to call the Make a Wish Foundation. Great stuff.

With all this 'shippy stuff that happened in this episode, I can't fail to mention Dave Mathews' performance. I thought it was beautiful and heartbreaking. I thought he did an amazing job, very subtle, not over the top. Emmy nom for best guest appearance? I think so!

Hugh playing the piano a lot in this ep made up for how little he has played it in previous eps this season. Always great to watch him. I love that House writes music.

I can't wait til March 27th!

I am glad this episode was so good, it took my mind off The Office for a bit, I've been so obsessed with that show, it's killing me that there aren't any new episodes for the whole of March. Ay.
