Various adventures

Gardening Leave is not so bad. It has allowed me some time to do some riding, some teaching and even to dog-sit a little bit. Also got to spend some herecirm time last weekend, which was - as always - an unmitigated pleasure.

A cross-field Cash-dash.

On Saturday herecirm came along with me for my first session with a new student, which gave her a chance to see me doing my horsemanship thing with a new horse. After that I took to Waggoners Wells, which is one of my favourite places to visit in autumn with the beeches and their reflections in the fishing lakes there.

Sari looking pensive and gorgeous in the autumn woods. ♥

Bright leaves against a dark forest.

Sari finds a hole.

In the evening we went back to Sari's part of the world and on Sunday we were able to go out for a ride on some of the shire horses she works with.

On a proper tall horse. Jake, who Sari is riding, is approximately 19hh.

This gives a better idea of their relative sizes.

Jake getting up after a roll.

Then we went to visit baby Magic again. So cute!

In the second part of this week, I have had my parents' dog to stay as they're off in Namibia climbing sand dunes and looking for elephants. This has lead to me getting to do a lot more walks than I usually do and ( as she's terrified of horses and I can't leave her alone safely while I ride ) a lot less riding.

These guys are just over the valley from where our ponies live. So cute! I got whiffley foal kisses.

Autumn colours in the Devil's Punchbowl.

This morning the mist was slowly boiling off the valley when we went for our morning walk. It had returned by the time we walked home in the dark later, making for an eerie wander through the looming trees.

It turns out bright bay counts as camouflage.

Walking through the chestnut woods. There are still a few chestnuts around but not as many as there were.

When I got to the yard today, Cash was looking very pleased with himself. I believe this used to be my palomino horse...

And that is some recent pictures. More about jobs later...
