Average saturday

We got to the ponies a little after nine, gave them some haylage for breakfast and then faffed around in the stable for half an hour while they ate it. Then we tacked up and went out for a couple of hours ride. The ponies were very good and although Zorro wanted to race, once they got going we were able to trot along very happily side by side without either of them getting overexcited and racey. I was surprised and pleased but I think I tend to think about where Zorro was a while ago rather than where he is at now. Lately he's been consistently better than I expect, but whether that is, in part, because I'm there ahead of him or because he's doing great and I should be trusting him more I don't know.

After riding we put the ponies out, tidied up their stables, removed a few barrows of poo from the field and departed. We went to the Watts Gallery tea-shop for some legendary welsh rarebit lunch, dropped in at the local Scats, got some feed for the chickens and the ponies, picked up some veg from the farm shop then went around to the wool shop in the next town because sleepsy_mouse has started to level up in knitting skills, and back around to the ponies where we made them dinner and put them to bed.

So that was pretty much an average dry Saturday here.

Now we're drinking tea and watching Lethal Weapon 2 and enjoying the film's underlying joke of Mel Gibson fighting against racists.
