Well the prelims are over and Canada made it into the next round leading their group. They'll play Sweden on Saturday (at least I think). I don't mean to keep talking up Joe, but he's played so damn well - he had four points in the game against Slovenia and he got another goal again today. The US had a decent game and the goal by Knube (man, are we gonna miss him) beat Marty clean. Canada was just a but too much. Sat with Ax at the game today. It was good to catch up with him and hear how things were going for him this year. I told him that I just couldn't root for him against Canada, but I wish him well. I think there is a ten Euro bet on the game; Honestly, I'm not sure how much money that is, but I think I'm in pretty good shape.
Had a chance to talk more to Kate today about taking Hunts for the summer. Honestly, I didn't think she would agree to it, but we have her. Kate still would like to see her ever now and then Once she is outta school, we get her. We'd take her sooner, but she likes school and we don't want her to miss it. Gotta get her in the good habit of school and all. So I think we're gonna head up to St. Thomas for a bit. I want her to know Joe's family (and vice versa) and then maybe we'll do something fun before the wedding.
But since Joe is off for a few days, I think we're gonna head out and do some celebrating. Maybe some dinner or find a quiet bar someplace. We have more than the game to celebrate.
