Good Omens: Missing Generation

Hey people! This is just the intro to get you all to understand the fanfic. To understand this, you will probably want to be able to clearly recite what happens in sequence within Good Omens, or - most likely - have a copy available. This was a little - OK, more like Kraken-sized - plot bunny that I just couldn't get rid of for AGES. In the end, I just had to write it down to post it somewhere. To be useful, I'll bold the important stuff, mmk?

The idea is that, actually, Aziraphale and Crowley are not the only agents based on Earth. They also have their charges, Damian and Muriel, there to keep them company and generally help when they are able. Like their tutors, the younger two also have an Arrangement of sorts, except they meet up to chat a lot more often than the elder two.

I'm taking the liberty to assume, as the book was published in1990, that Adam would have been born in 1979, and that the Apocalypse-that-wasn't was set in 1990. Therefore, for any background stuff I'm trying to research slightly into what exactly was on and popular at the time.

As we are told that Crowley 'didn't mean to Fall', I'm saying that he started off as an angel, and therefore Damian (a character you'll meet in the first post, as he's one of the two main characters) began as a normal, somewhat fluffy fledgling. A fledgling, for those who don't know for one reason or another, seems to be a popular way of referring to a 'student' angel, like a kid.

Before they become 'fully fledged', they need to be trained, and in my 'verse they are each assigned a 'tutor' to train them. I'm also, for the sake of possible future chapters/stories, going to say that they are placed under one of three 'Garrisons' - Messengers, Warriors and Healers (any Supernatural fans may just see what I'm considering doing later on!), and they are then placed with 5 other angels, making a team or 'brotherhood' (although the other main character finds the term vaguely offensive). This team would have 2 of each 'Garrison' within it, so that they can work together to cover all bases, and if something happens to one of them, there is still one other in the 'brotherhood' with that ability. I'm considering the idea that Muriel (the other one - see why 'she' might find the term 'brotherhood' offensive now?) may end up with others of her team appearing in here, but I'm not certain yet.

There will be (very strong) hints/results of Crowley/Aziraphale, and it's most likely going to end up Damian/Muriel (OMC/OFC) as well. Just as a warning, if you need it!

NOTE TO ANY SUPERNATURAL FANS:

Muriel may or may not be in the same 'brotherhood' as Castiel. You have been warned! (But there won't be any shipping there as Muri is set for someone else... Although I think you can already guess here.) I won't mess with the canons! Or at least not up to the end of season 5.

END OF NOTE.

So... don't know if there's anything else I need to throw in here... I guess I need to say this. Damian is based appearance-wise (although quite very loosely) on Thomas Dekker (from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), and Muriel is based (also quite loosely) on Zooey Deschanel.

Got it? Good! Time to start the story!
