THIS ICON IS SUPPOSED TO REPRESENT HISTORY OR SOMETHING

Soooo, maybe it's the fact that my teacher is so very animated while he's teaching or maybe it's that I have an interest in Native Americans, but so far, for the first time in years, I am really liking history :) Today we talked about the...uh...'Cliff-dwellers of the Southwest' which is the Pueblo-Hohokam culture, the 'Moundbuilders of the Mississippi', which is the, surprise surprise, Mississippian culture, and my favorite, the 'Woodland Tradition', the Adena-Hopewell culture. I like them, because five of their tribes formed an alliance called the Iroquois. I'll admit, the biggest reason I like them is that they formed an alliance that successfully kept the peace in their area, which so many countries after them tried, and the biggest difference that I can see? The Iroquois were a matriarcal society :) Yup yup, these five tribes may have had a council made of men, but those men were chosen BY the women, and reported TO the women. I really want to study them more, that way I can go around bragging about my gender with a little more knowledge, but for now: WOMEN RULE.

And yes, I'm totally abusing this journal as a study guide. But I really think that the Iroquois are an interesting people, and I was thinking that maybe some of you might find them interesting too. So...um...yeah...

The Anarazi, part of the Pueblo-Hohokam culture, made their homes OUT OF THE CLIFF-SIDE. These people are ingenius.

i need a life, school talk, i'm pathetic aren't i, best wishes and dftba
