So I finished Tumbling...

And I'll admit, the first episode- not so good. But if you keep watching it gets soooo much better. It, like, attaches to your emotions. Although really. I understand that one of the big lessons in the story is that people can change, give people a chance, don't judge people by their appearences, yadda yadda yadda. That said, I was afraid to hate anybody because in the end they were all gonna turn out nice or trying to be nice or something. And, well, most of them did.

Annnnyways. It really was an AMAZING drama. It opened my eyes to something though- I never realized just how BIG Yusuke Yamamoto's lps are.(Thought I was gonna say something profound, didn't ya?) Take this gif as an example:

Yeah, I saw that at least a year ago, and somehow I still didn't realize he had such big lips. Also, that guy that plays Hino. He had some big ones too. LOL, I JUST WATCHED A DRAMA ABOUT MEN'S RYTHMIC GYMNASTICS, AND I WASN'T MAKING GAY JOKES IN MY HEAD THE WHOLE TIME, I FEEL I DESERVE TO BE SHALLOW. ~*I apologize for how offensive that sounded. Really, I just tried to think of something to excuse my shallowness at being distracted by their lips, and not neccesarily in a good way.*~

Oh, and also, I really really admire the actors. They didn't have stunt people or something doing all that tumbling, it was them. I really wish I could do that. However, I'm waaaay to afraid to. Like, one of the people was doing a backflip, and I realized that on their way down to land there were a few seconds where they were completely facing the ground, like, staring RIGHT AT THE FLOOR, but still in air, and my heart started beating faster just thinking about it. If I can't do a flip strapped into one of those trampaline thingies with the bungie cord type things, I certainly can't do it on my own. SO TO ANYONE IN GYMNASTICS- IF I MAKE FUN OF YOU EVER, IT IS JUST BECAUSE I'M JEALOUS.

Ok. That said, there's another thing that I find strange. The sport is called tumbling. But...this is, copy and pasted from dictionary.com, the definition of the word tumble:

"to fall helplessly down, end over end, as by losing one's footing, support, or equilibrium; plunge headlong"
Why would you name a sport where you have to be agile, and graceful, and you do all kinds of leaps and jumps and flips after a word that means falling? Is it just for the irony? That's something that's been nawing at my brain since I started watching this. I mean...I kind of like it, I just don't completely understand it.

Anyways, because I procrastinate too much, and also so I don't watch all the episodes out and have to wait for updates in Japan, instead of returning to Kamen Rider Double (Yay! I've got an icon for that too, now!) I'm going to watch Tenimyu, the Prince of Tennis musical. I never got into the anime, but I'm hoping the added factor of music will get me through this. I've gotten about 20 minutes in, but the download messed up so I have to re-download. So far, I love it. But that may be just because I enjoy the fact that it's a Japanese musical about tennis. I mean, I started cracking up and had to pause it, like, 10 seconds into the first song. But, I do like it.

Well, the first part is almost down downloading, so I'm off to watch that now. Bye-bye! (Grrrr, all these sports-related things, it makes me really wish that I was athletic, even just a little bit.)

fangirling, my brain is crazy, this is gonna earn me a stay in the loon, sorry for torturing you, i claim philip as my own, japan get's a thumbs up, cuteboy, i'm a nerd, i need a life, procrastinating makes the world go round, fandom rules my life, popcorn time
