Title: False Conclusion
Characters: Finn, Kurt, Carole, Burt, Will, glee
Summary: Written for a prompt on the Glee Angst Meme: Everyone knows that Will has taken a special interest in Finn. So when it comes out that Finn was molested by a teacher everyone assumes it was Will. It wasn't but for some reason Finn can't defend Will at first (too withdrawn to speak, unconscious after being attacked, ect).

Will was trying to get control of his Glee club. He knew everyone was shaken after what had happened and being in his Spanish classroom instead of their usual choir room was just a reminder. Not only were Finn and Kurt missing, but Tina’s, Artie’s, and Brittany’s parents had all taken their kids out of school. He was surprised more parents hadn’t pulled their kids.
“William Schuester?” a cop was standing in the doorway with his partner.
“Yes.”
“We need you to come with us,” he said, immediately raising protests from his kids. He silenced them with a look.
“What is this about?” he asked them.
The cop looked at the teens in the room with an uneasy expression on his face. “I think we should discuss this some place else.”
“He didn’t do anything,” Rachel screeched and shot to her feet. She’d clued in as soon as she saw the expressions on the cops’ faces. She’d heard about cases like this one from her dad the lawyer. “He wouldn’t do anything to Finn!”
“Mr Schuester,” the second cop motioned for him to follow them, ignoring Rachel’s protests.
Will looked at his kids and was grateful to see they all looked angry on his behalf. They trusted him. They believed him.
“I want you guys to all go home,” Will told them. “Don’t go anywhere alone.”
Rachel was still protesting as he followed the police out the door. He hoped they listened to him and went straight home. The school wouldn’t be safe until the police caught whoever had hurt Finn and if the police were focused on him, they wouldn’t be looking for anyone else.
Will ran his fingers through his hair for about the thousandth time since the police had brought him to the station. They kept asking him the same questions and he kept giving them the same answers. No, he didn’t assault Finn. No, he wasn’t at the school last night. He was home alone and no, no one could verify that.
It turned out someone, most likely a student, had tipped off the police that he had a special relationship with Finn. He did, but the way the police kept saying it made it seem wrong and dirty. Finn would always be special to him. It was after finding Finn that New Directions started coming together and Finn did remind Will of himself. He’d taken an interest in helping the boy ever since their Acafellas days.
They had yet to read him his rights. It was obvious they didn’t have any proof other than the student’s tip. He understood that they had to take the tip seriously, especially after what had happened, but it was still hard to hear the details of his innocent relationship with Finn dragged through the mud.
Technically he could leave at any time but that would make him look suspicious. He’d watched enough Law and Order to know that. It was better for him to endure their endless questioning and wait for them to realize they had the wrong guy.
