Very strange! I went to a workshop on treatment of addictions and dependent behavior. I had read ahead of time that acupuncture was part of the deal, but forgotten it. This is a treatment based on motivational interviewing and the accupuncture protocol of NADA. They put two needles in each ear at the end of the lectures (the treatment is actually five points in the ears) and I didn't think it would really effect me. A day and a half later I have to admit that it has effected me. I just spent two and a half hours listening and talking to my ex (about two hours and twenty-five minutes than I my patience usually lasts). I feel good. I decided to cut sugar out of my diet, remembering how good I used to feel when I didn't eat it. It's not like I don't always know that, but I haven't had the will to make a change in my diet or exercise habits for a long time. Something has changed. The problem is if I need to continue treatment, it's probably expensive. There isn't a program here for group treatment in a large public meeting room like in Brooklyn, NY. I'll have to look into it. In the mean time, I feel good, and curious that it could even have this/these effect/s.
I was interested in taking the course they are offering to learn to treat, but it is at the same time as my Orthopedic Diagnosis class. There aren't any parallel classes this year, so I don't think I can change it. I need the Orthopedic Diagnosis along with the Deep Tissue Massage class.
