SUNSHINE!  Life is good.

Kids are back in school today after a three day holiday for the girls and two days for the boys. They had their parties at school on Sunday--well, kind of fairs.  Lots of fun.  A looked as though he were dripping with blood (a murderer) and both girls were adorable witches.  Y didn't want to wear a costume.  We had both Ha and E overnight on Sunday, which I meant I missed group.

I had also scheduled a  meeting about membership in the pool, etc. My membership at the pool ran out just as they closed it for renovations in September.  Anyway, I called to say I couldn't make it and supposedly it shouldn't be a big deal to start again.  The only problem being that the woman in charge is nuts.  One day everything is simple, the next it takes a vote of the full Parliament to get accomplished. I didn't actually write that. That sentence fell from a passing truth cloud, and I couldn't block it. I should hurry up about it at any rate, as she appears to be near the end of a pregnancy, and bureaucracy being what it is nothing will get accomplished while she is on leave.

H stayed over with E, and M took all the kids to the Dead Sea.  He planned to take them to Masada, but H had chest pains and was upset.  He turned around to bring them home, but she felt better, and they continued to have a good time.  G agrees with me that these are probably panic attacks.

Ya went to Ashkelon with the cousins when they returned from their visit here.  She came home on the bus yesterday evening.  All the kids missed the SLY Purim party, as it turned out to be during the evening when their dad couldn't take them.

Yesterday when Y woke up and saw me he said, "It's your birthday.  Well, not right now, but.."  They always get confused between birthday and birthday party.   I said, "You're right.  I'm not having a party, and this is the day I was born 39 years ago."  Hearing such an enormous number, his eyes opened wide and he said, "Whoa-oa."  The kids put together a book with pictures they drew and messages they wrote for me.  It also has two pages of jokes and riddles.  G planned to bring her family and a picnic down, but it ended up raining a bit. So in the end she sent down barbequed chicken and a chocolate creme cake, so as not to crowd us out of the house with her mob.  Typically, my dad timed the mailing of my birthday card just right so I got it on my actual birthday.  That was a nice surprise too.

A's birthday is in another month. He saw a skateboard that he wants as a present.

En came by yesterday to bring us Mishloah Manot, and helped us eat chocolate from some of the offerings we had already received.  He was surprised to hear that I am younger than him by almost two years.  He, Ni, and Ri all have birthdays a month from now.  He considered himself a year older because on my birthday he is not yet two years older.

He asked me to take care of Ni while he "did something" that would take about an hour.  Kn called and took this in as well as she could.  We didn't talk directly about the likelihood that he is using again, but it is apparent.  He uses his almost non-existent memory as a cover for not being where he has agreed to be at any given time. Sigh.

Enough!  Back to the sunshine.

birthday, h's health, en, y, ya, a, h, purim, kn, cousins, ni
