First of all, I am always a big fan of your writing, and Rachel/Mercedes is one of my favorite ships! :DDDDDDD

Second of all, this somehow managed to exceed my expectations. You write everyone so, so well. Your Mercedes voice is perfection- the moment that cinched it was your interpretation of The Comeback- "it's hard to push things like that away when there's no one else to push with you". Just heartbreaking, and exactly how I interpret Mercedes' mix of confidence and vulnerability. Also, Rachel and her slumber party anecdote. Her vulnerability, and the way she simply can't help but inject a backhanded compliment and a bit of narcissism into every conversation, makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. (And lol, Sue, Kurt, and the Santana/Mercedes implications, I see you).

I think my favorite aspect of this fic was the way you took several episodes that in some ways seemed to regress the Rachel/Mercedes friendship and made it work flawlessly. Their reactions to each other, and Mercedes' actions and characterization separate from Rachel, even, tied together in a way they definitely didn't in canon. Lovely fic.

Oh, my gosh - this comment is so flattering and so generous. Thank you! ♥ I'm thrilled Mercedes's voice works well for you here, since she's so tricky to write. and I couldn't resist putting in those Santana/Mercedes implications, because how much do I love that pairing? so much.
