I love Brittany and she's hilarious...but I'm kind of judging her for outing Santana like it's nothing. Especially when she's talked to her about it and knows how much Santana's struggling with it. (And that she's IN LOVE WITH BRITTANY.) It looks even worse when you compare Brittany to Kurt, who kept Karofsky's secret even under threat of violence. I'm gonna chalk this one up to bad characterization of females, as usual.

I really think it's more about Brit's naivety and lack of understanding things that she outs Santana to Tina and Mercedes. The way she does it so casually suggests this to me, personally. She didn't mean anything by it, not in such a way as to hurt Santana.

Part of Brittney's personality is her innocence and gullibility. She's shown since Sexy that she doesn't view Santana being a lesbian as an especially big deal. And doesn't seem to really understand why she would want to hide herself away from the world, when Brit believes she's such an amazing person.

you really can't compare Brit to Kurt, I mean, I'm pretty sure Kurt knows the square root of four isn't rainbows after all :|

I completley agree with you, but I think that just highlights an even larger problem with Brittany.

If she really is that naive and lacks that much understanding, I feel rather uncomfortable shipping her with anyone on the show.

I do love Brittany/Santana, but sometimes I really think they take Brittany too far. If she was just a "background" character who said funny lines then...fine. But once they gave her a "serious" storyline this year, they should have made her seem slightly more intelligent not much less...at least to the point where I can feel like she understands consequences and things like what sex can mean.

IAWTC

I'm moving more and more away from being a Brittana shipper into only loving Santana and caring about her being happy, whether that's with Brittany or not.

HeMo was kinda right when she made that comment at Paley about Santana being too smart for Brittany. Pretty much everyone is, though.

Yea, same here. I do want Brittany to be happy because I do like her, but it's hard to imagine a situation at this point where her being with anyone (in a sexual way) isn't at least a tiny bit creepy.

I'd still prefer her with Santana over anyone else in the actual glee club simply because they are best friends (and probably have been for years), so I'd assume Santana knows her better than anyone because of that. I also feel like Brittany was written as a little more "aware" than she usually is during those "serious" Santana/Brittany conversations at their lockers.

But being slightly more "aware" in a handful of scenes doesn't really fix the problem for me.

IA. Normally I could brush it off as Britt not understanding the gravity of the situation, but the look on her face... IDK. She seemed to know it was a big deal.
