'Glee' scoop: Cory Monteith and co-creators Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk reveal who they're rooting for in Super Bowl XLV

It’s a Sunday that TV watchers have been anticipating for months: the return of Glee!!! Oh, and I guess there’s also the Super Bowl beforehand. But I think most of us are psyched for the ginormous post-game Glee event that features the boobtastic* opening number set to “California Gurls” as well as the “Thriller”/”Heads Will Roll” mash-up along with covers of The Zombies’ “She’s Not There,” Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now,” and Destiny’s Child’s “Bills Bills Bills.” But seeing that there are certainly some Gleeks who are actually excited about the game, we asked a couple Glee dudes (star Cory Monteith and co-creators Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk) who they’re rooting for in the Super Bowl.

Cory Monteith: “I think the Steelers, because they’re the underdogs. See the obvious Glee tie-in there? That and ever since I was I kid, I thought they were the ‘Pittsburgh Stealers.’”

Ian Brennan: “As a despondent Bears fan, I will be rooting Steelers. Though those Packers are tough, and I think should be favored to win. So my pick is Packers, but I’ll be rooting for the Steelers to hand them their asses.”

Brad Falchuk: “I guess I’m rooting for Green Bay, because I have issues with fans who use props, but I really don’t have a horse in this race. Just want a good game that goes down to the wire.”

So, there’s not a lot of Glee love for the Packers, apparently. Who are you rooting for PopWatchers? And, more importantly, how excited are you for Glee tonight?!? Also, be sure to check back in later tonight to read EW’s recap of the show - let’s hope it’s a touchdown!

*Note: I’ve already used “boobalicious” and “boob-a-palooza” in previous related posts - I’d just like some kudos for my creativity.
