Glee actors Cory Monteith and Lea Michele spill the details on Rachel and Finn and new episodes

Cory, what happens when the show returns? Spoil us a little; we’ve been good this year.
Ah yes. Here we are again, back from hiatus. Now, in this episode - it’s called “Hello” - it’s like a welcome back to the world of Glee. Sue Sylvester had been blacklisted from the school, and now she’s back in. And in another attempt to break up the Glee club, she tries spilt up the newly budding romance of Finn and Rachel by sending in her spies to take Finn out on a triple date.
Jonathan Groff has joined the cast. What’s he like?
He’s amazingly talented. You’re going to love his character. He comes and wrecks the party. Finn is jealous [of him] and conflicted.
You’re joining the basketball team.
In football season you play football and in basketball season you play basketball. This is very cool.
Can you actually play basketball very well?
My basketball skills are…. I am tall. That’s good. I… once played basketball on another show. Uhm. So I got those two things going for me.
How are Rachel and Cory going to work, for those shippers out there?
So, Rachel Berry’s idea of a relationship with Finn is a little bit different than Finn would have it. And in one hilarious scene, Rachel comes up and talks about all the things she has planned for us that month. She brings kitty cat calendars. The cute cat calendars have our faces super imposed over the cats.
We saw you last year at a test screening of Glee with Kevin Reilly and Pete Rice. Basically, you looked like you were geeking out at the audience response. Now it has aired…
You know, there’s definitely more pressure because there’s a lot more people looking at us. Physically, there are more eyes on us. There has been so much attention with the Golden Globes… We’re beside ourselves. It’s amazing. It’s remarkable.

How many weeks does the show pick up from after the winter finale of Glee?
We left the show at a bit of a cliff hanger with Finn and Rachel. So we deal with that and introduce a couple of new characters. It’s not too many weeks apart from where we left off. I think it is two weeks.
Jonathan Groff has joined that cast. You excited?
To have that person around has been wonderful and so much fun. On top of that he is also an incredible actor and the type of person that’s… perfect to be on Glee.
What’s coming in the final episodes of the season?
All I can say is for the back nine episodes the musical numbers are bigger and better. The arrangements are so incredible. The musical numbers have turned into these epic numbers, especially the group ones. I’ve been having so much fun listening to the songs we’ve already recorded for [these new episodes]. What I also think is great about these episodes is that you’ll really get to a lot of the Glee club characters personally. A lot of the episodes are focused on one Glee club member. You can see what their life is like outside of the Glee club, and what their home life is like.
