Soulmates AU Klaine, Hudmels TW: potential death, illness

In a universe where everyone has a soulmate, each hospital employs a psychic who reveals the name of the new baby's soulmate at birth and it goes on their birth certificate. It's very rare that a birth outside the hospital happens as the name must be revealed within a few hours of the birth or the name is lost and the child will grow up not knowing the name of his or her soulmate. Soulmates are almost always around the same age and even without ever meeting, they're connected. One cannot survive without the other once both are born. People marry non-soulmates all the time, as finding the one person in the millions alive is hard, but it's never as fulfilling as marrying their soulmate.

Kurt Hummel is one of those who was born outside the hospital and has never known the name of his soulmate. He's not sure he even believes in soulmates. His dad was happy with his mom and they weren't soulmates. But then his dad finds his soulmate and is happier than Kurt's ever seen him. Kurt decides to use a website aimed to help people who don't know their soulmate's name and is surprised to get a quick reply from a Cooper Anderson, saying his little brother Blaine's soulmate is Kurt Hummel.

The problem is Blaine is sick, very sick, and isn't expected to live much longer. Kurt may have found his soulmate but it seems like he'll lose him soon and soon after that, his family will lose him. But he still needs to meet this Blaine. He just knows that if he meets Blaine, he'll know for sure if their soulmates and maybe, seeing his soulmate will keep Blaine fighting.

One of the other Gleeks completely against soulmates
Happy ending
