Rory's having trouble in his American History class and the new teacher offers to tutor him after school two times a week. Rory knows he needs the help, and even though he gets a bit of a creepy vibe from the guy, he accepts because he thinks he's going to fail without it.
It's the little things at first. Offering to give Rory rides home after tutoring, the too-long stares, the touches, the odd comments. But Americans are weird--maybe this is just normal behavior for a nice teacher.
Some things are hard to justify, though. Like how his teacher remembers his address after the first time taking him home, or the times he thinks he sees his teacher's car parked down the street and the glint of two identical pieces of circular glass in the window, or when his teacher comes by the house three times just to say how well Rory is doing, or when his teacher finds ways to make the tutoring sessions last longer, or when he starts getting creepy texts from an unknown number soon after the teacher confiscates his phone for the day.
Rory wants to stop the tutoring, but he'll have to go back to Ireland if he fails a class--it's part of the program contract. And he doesn't want to tell anyone in case he's wrong; he'd be so embarrassed, and he'd probably lose all the friends it took him so long to make. So even though every alarm in him is screeching, he still goes to the tutoring sessions.
And then one tutoring session, the teacher acts on his desires and brutally rapes Rory. After it happens, the teacher realizes what he's just done and freaks out and runs away, leaving Rory lying on the floor.
Rory's completely shattered. He doesn't think he can even get up, and he doesn't want to be found by the janitor--he doesn't think he can handle the humiliation. He doesn't want to call the police because then everyone would know and it's just easier this way. And he can't call the police anyway, or anyone else because he threw his phone away after the messages got to be too creepy.
He doesn't know what to do, and he's so overwhelmed with panic he just starts sobbing uncontrollably.
And then he hears the door open. He thinks it's the teacher, and becomes hysterical. But it's Santana, who left something in her locker and heard his cries from the hall.
Santana can put two and two together: it's obvious from the half-naked Rory, the hysterical crying, and the blood on the floor what happened. Rather than being the awful, mean Santana Rory expects her to be, she's soothing and calming. Santana helps him up, takes him home, and listens to what happened to him.
TL;DR: Rory is tutored after school by creepy teacher, ignores the warning signs, teacher rapes him, Santana is the one who finds him and helps him.
