Everyone started eating dinner, and Burt talked about work, and how Will Schuester had finally brought his dying car to the garage, and then Carole had shifted the conversation to her work at the back, where she was a teller. She told a story about an elderly woman who kept trying to write money orders for more than she had in her account.

“Pass the broccoli please,” Kurt asked politely.

Finn leaned over to hand Kurt the broccoli, their fingers brushing as Kurt tried to take the bowl from Finn. Kurt pulled his hands back as if he'd been burned and the serving bowl fell to the table, broccoli spilling out onto pale yellow tablecloth.

“Dammit, Kurt, I'm not going to hurt you!” Finn couldn't help but yell at the shorter boy.

“Not while you're awake, maybe!” Kurt flung back at him.

“Dude, that's not my fault!” Finn argued.

“It still fucking happened!” Kurt yelled, standing up from his chair.

“That's it!” Burt shouted, standing up. “Kurt, watch your language. Both of you, calm down. Save it for therapy tomorrow.”

“May I be excused?” Kurt asked.

“You've barely eaten anything,” Carole said.

“I'm not hungry,” Kurt said. “Please, may I be excused?”

“Alright,” Carole said. “Go work on some homework.”

Kurt stood up and left the room.

“Can I be excused too?” Finn asked a few minutes later. He'd almost completely cleared his own plate.

“Sure,” Carole said. “All your make-up homework is stacked on your desk. You should try to get started on it.”

“Okay,” Finn said.

“Don't forget to take your pills,” Carole reminded him as he stomped up the stairs to his room.

Finn glared at the two pill bottles. The Clonazepam made him drowsy in the daytime, and the Trazedone knocked him out hard, twenty minutes after he took it. Life really sucked sometimes.

Ahhhh, this is so good, and so wonderfully angsty. Poor Finn/poor everyone, really. :'( Your Finn pov is really great and in character.

Thanks. I like writing in Finn's voice. He's one of the few character's whose voice I think I do tolerably.

Trying. The next part is hard to write, it's so full of accusations and blaming and everyone mad at everyone else, it's so chaotic. I hope to get to it right.

Really? You don't necessarily agree? You don't notice how extatic readers get every time you post? Some of us read stories simply because they are written by you, without even checking the prompt to see if it's a plot that would interest us. You are just that good a bet. You pack more emotion than I can sometimes even handle, which is like crack on this meme, and have never posted anything not worth reading. At least twice.

Anyway, this post was meant to do more than poke at your modesty bubble. I check back for updates on this every day, I'm so excited for more. I will happily continue this practice until you are comfortable posting what you've got, so no pressure is intended in this, but I am sending little pulses of encouragement. It may sound like a mild hum. This story is awesome-sauce. No, you know what? It's awesome-pasta with awesome-sauce. So there. And, you're Joyful, so whatever you post is only going to make it better.

I scared my company When I screamed after reading this. (I'm a little drunkish) thank you so much!!!!!!!!!! I'm not very confident, I think most of my stories are trite and unoriginal. The fact that you like it makes me so good!!!! THANK YOU!!!

i agree 1000% percent with the commenter above. I track this fill, and I squeal each time I see it updated. I squeal even when it's just comments, lol! <3 Can't wait for more.

Seconding everything everyone else has said: You are wonderful and your writing is more than amazing. I stalk everything you write, and if there are no updates, I go and re-read your completed stuff. Even if you update months from now, I'll be reading it. :D

mrah? oh joyful, you are amazing. this is incredible. i love your finn!voice, and the uniqueness of having it from his point of view as opposed to kurt's is incredible. i'm really looking forward to some more of it, so keep writing!~
