BEEP!
"Listen, Kurt, I think we need to talk about this... I just... It's unnecessary drama, you know? I care about you, so just... call me."
BEEP!
"I know you're home. Rachel told me, and I can see your car in the drive. I can see you, your silhouette in the window. Kurt. Seriously. Pick up the fucking phone, we NEED to talk!"
Kurt grabbed the phone from the hook; "You're outside my house!?"
"Kurt," Blaine sounded relieved, "listen, I know we -"
"If you don't leave right this second I'm calling the cops. This is stalking, Blaine. Stop being a dick."
-
He stood in front of the mirror dressed in boxers and an undershirt. So far as he knew he was the only one at home, but he bathroom door was locked anyway. "You're worth more than humiliation and accusation," Kurt told himself firmly, "you deserve happiness. You deserve trust. You deserve to be able to trust the boy that you're with."
-
There were roses in his locker again. Kurt wrinkled his nose and shoved them out onto the floor before kicking them away down the hall.
People were staring, but he didn't much care. He was not going to be bribed into a toxic relationship.
"Kurt!" A familiar voice, sounding hurt, called out from the crowd. "Kurt!" Blaine was coming towards him, pushing his way through the press of students moving between classes. "Kurt, I just want to talk to you!"
Kurt turned on his heel and walked away.
-
"What did I do?"
Cornered in the choir room, the door blocked by the very boy he'd been avoiding for the better part of a week. Standing in front of an audience of people he called his friends, most of whom seemed vaguely uncomfortable. Kurt twitched a little. "What did you do?" he repeated incredulously.
"Why wont you talk to me?" Blaine asked. "I've been leaving you messages, I drove by your house, I even sent you flowers. I just want to know what I've done to deserve this kind of treatment."
"To...?" Kurt stared. "You broke up with me, Blaine. In front of the whole club. You accused me of cheating and then you broke up with me. Publicly. And now you're practically stalking me and you want to know why I don't want to talk to you!?"
Blaine stepped back. He looked as if he'd been slapped in the face. "I didn't..."
"It was a bit of a dick move," Puck piped up from their audience.
"You did make yourself pretty clear," added Quinn dryly.
Kurt gave him a pointed look but said nothing. He turned and took one of the few empty seats left. He wasn't going to let his ex-boyfriend ruin glee for him on top of everything else.

Until one night he brings a boy back to his tiny single room.
"Who's this?" The boy, Marcus, is a tall, slender blond with freckles that dust his face and arms. He zeroes in on the picture straight away, picking up the plain silver frame for a better look.
Kurt looks over his shoulder and smiles. "Oh, that was my first boyfriend back in highschool."
"And you still have a picture of him?"
"We were also in glee together," Kurt replies, picking up the other frame -the one with the whole club, "and he was the first person I knew who helped me stand up to my bullies." He chuckles a bit. "He was kind of a douche though, when all's said and done. He broke up with me in front of the whole club, through song."
"What a jerk. So," Marcus turns the picture around for Kurt to see, "do you keep this to remind yourself not to make the same mistakes?"
The pouty expression on his face makes it clear to Kurt what he's trying to say. Kurt laughs. "I don't think you're going to be a mistake at all."
