Lingering Olympic thoughts.
While I didn't have huge issues this year with NBC's Olympic Coverage. I have realized that there is one little annoying thing that is still sticking with me. I noticed it first with one of the Women Skiers. "This mother of a two-year old..." and with a skater "...had a child last year...". I felt pretty annoyed that having a child was apparently deemed more important by the commentators than a career in sports and making it to the Olympic Games.
Anyone who meets me learns pretty quickly that I am incredibly proud of being a mom and that it is pretty much all I talk about. That said, when being introduced while doing something that has nothing to do with children, I want to be introduced by the relevant credentials.
They never introduced Bode Miller as "this father a two-year old.." even though he almost quit skiing so he could spend more time with his two-year old daughter.
