Hi Everyone!
I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas.
I was, as I mentioned before, a bit stressed out before the holidays.
Christmas worked out. I didn't kill anyone. I have already written a note to myself in my planner on October 15, 2009 to have a discussion with my family on how we are going to conquer the holiday season next year. The holiday season for us really starts with Halloween and ends with Tabby's birthday on Jan. 15th.

Then the season is finally over.
It gets big when you write it all down. The scary thing is, that it is not any bigger than anyone else's. It's a wonder that we don't all kill each other trying to keep up with the season of Peace and Love.
I keep telling myself that I am going to use the Flylady holiday planning system for the next year. It sounds good on paper.
Anyway, the Holiday went very well after I finished panicking. The kids and I did get to the Mall of America. Karl had decided to work from home on Christmas Eve so he finished up the vacuuming . The kids were a bit dissapoinnted with my need to do some holiday shopping, but they survived. I had planned to bring the boys home by 3:00 but didn't get them home until 5:00.
I got home about 5:20 and still had to prep the lasagnas since I hadn't gotten to assemble them the night before. I didn't get them into the oven until 5:45, when Mom, dad and Eliie (MIL) showed up with plans to eat at about 6:00.
I decided then that we were having a backwards Christmas. Instead of Big Meal, Presents and then dessert , I put the coffee on, opened the dessert wine and put out the massive box of cookies that
moneygod made for us.
Then we opened presents. By the time we were done, the lasagnas were cooked so we put together the salad, warmed the garlic bread and sat down to eat. The meal was much more relaxed than usual with out the looming promise of presents to open.
The more social of the grown-ups sat in the living room talking and the girls and Karl went into the family room to play the new Wii games. and start watching Wall-E. Everyone left at about 10:00.
It was a nice evening.
Christmas day we went over to my parent's place for a late breakfast and stockings for the girls. We had a few friends drop in for assorted eating and game playing. We got to my parents place at 10:00am and left at about 9:00pm. Lots of laughter and fun.
My family and friends totally rock!
