I know it shouldn't be a big deal but... My eldest just used the word *oppressive*. Happily, it was not in response to our parenting techniques.

My baby is growing up!

She thought I was silly. She said, (with typical teen sarcasm) "So?...I used pseudonym yesterday."

To which Bargeral said, "I see you're working on *pretentious* as well."

Kashnitzles actually sounds like a yiddish word for something...
As in "I baked a lovely batch of Kashnitzles" or "Back in my day, we had to have Kashnitzles for breakfast every day... and we LIKED it"

Loosely. But persnickity focuses more on the person being overly picky. And pretentious focuses more on the person being conceited. *grins*

I like kashnitzles though. I agree that it sounds like something you'd say to avoid cussing. *grins*
