Keymile wrote a paper called
VoIP Control Protocols for Media Gateways
in a Next Generation Network (NGN)
I've been fascinated with Title and read it.
Intro promised:
This white paper addresses the questions surrounding the H.248/ MEGACO, MGCP, SIP and H.323

This white paper addresses the questions surrounding the H.248/ MEGACO, MGCP, SIP and H.323
protocols, and the common dilemma over which application each is best suited to. Three subjects are
discussed:
an overview of the protocols
a comparison of these protocols
their application scenarios, particularly relating to access gateways
I would rather call this paper: "Few words why we do not want to implement SIP on our AG"
Anyhow it is good for Product Managers or Sales to make up good story for customers. It seems now many Access Gateways vendors are seriously looking to SIP including Keymile. Why it is so difficult? Why vendors try to avoid SIP on their carrie grade Access Gateways? This paper might have answers or just some hints. I think so.
Enjoy
