Pride Vs. Progress, the pro's and con's of Gay Pride Parades.

It has some good points, but it also glosses over a few things too.

Honestly, I don't know what to think. I can understand that it can be shocking to see some of the crap that goes on, but the same shit happens at Mardigras. :/

Parade + Booze + Vast numbers of people = crazy shit gonna happen. Straight or gay. :P

Seems more like the argument is along the lines of how really far out of the closet should we come out before they grab the torches and pitchforks to force us back in.

Wow, talk about internalized homophobia. Plus I loved his transphobia, insinuating drag queens cost everyone "equal rights."

I understand how public sex acts and nudity can be detrimental, but the rest fo his argument seems, frankly, like bullshit to me. Assimilate to straight culture, pass like "just like everyone else"? Okay, so some of us ARE "just like" straight people, but many of us aren't too and pretending that is stupid.

His whole thing brings a certain song to mind, "Rich, White, & Gay" by Adhamh Roland: http://riotfolk.org/music/31/09%20Rich,%20White,%20and%20Gay.m4a
