i'm overwhelmed and hung over. overjoyed about obama. pissed as hell about prop 8. pissed that it passed and pissed that this means i have to keep having this conversation. pissed that prop 8 totally overshadowed a number of other really important props (some of which went my way and some of which didn't. like fucking prison expansion. fuck.) excited to have a president who can put a sentence together. worried about racist violence. angry at the multiple right-wing white people i've heard this morning basically use affirmative action rhetoric to talk about the victory - acting like they're willing to let him be president instead of admitting that he kicked their fucking asses.
i wish the elation had lasted longer. there are certainly moments, though.
