SO much has passed since i last updated, so i promise to try to keep this relatively short.

Jan Term break was perfect. There really isn't much i would have changed about it. I got plenty of time to just sit at home and relax, i saw lots of people at the manor and got to hang out with lots of people multiple times and one-on-one. I got in my baking day, playing, listening to music, relaxing, laundry, all that good stuff. The coast was beautiful, quiet, and good family time - i mean, who doesn't like swapping theories on how to get the dog to pee? Dar Williams was great too - i think i have been suitibly brainwashed by my parents and corvallis. :) Seeing everyone was too good for words, i love you guys, i really can't say it any other way. I came back sunday and got to chat w/noah on the drive up; it was good to catch up w/him and it made the drive shorter.

Back at school things have actually been going pretty well! I've got mixed feelings on pretty much all my classes, but i guess that at least means it's not all bad, right? Last semester was really not good. Katie and i were joking yesterday about a time i ran into the room between class and the million other things i was overwhelmed with and w/out thinking asked her to go to the bathroom for me because i didn't have time. how sad is that? so i vow not to do that to myself again and i think this semster should be better. Children's lit i think i'll really like the reading (we're doing nursery rhymes now) but the professor i think could be kind of frustrating. today he sang all 10(?) verses of The Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly. all of them. i kept thinking he would just quit, but no, the whole thing. and he tells lots of pointless stories about his childhood. so...we'll see how that goes. My romantic lit. class has only 8 people in it and i think it's going to be a lot more poetry then i was thinking - the only novel we're reading is Frankenstein - and so far the prof seems cool, maybe a little nuts, but at least excited about what she's teaching so that helps. math shouldn't be too exciting, but we have to do weekly journals, so we'll see how that goes. My teaching diversity class i'm not sure how it will go. I'm definitely the youngest in the class, all the others have started student teaching and all that kind of thing so they're at least a year older then i am, but the prof seems really excited about bilingualism and all the different things we can do. she kind of reminds me of mom, comes from so. cal, is really passionate about what she does, and is involved in so much stuff she's constantly doing something. i think it'll be hard at times, but really interesting and hopefully really inspirational - i left class today smiling and all excited, so i guess that's a good sign.

in other news.
i don't have to do everything 3 days in advance and i feel guilty for not having all my hw done super early. i suppose i'll get used to it :)
I'm taking the CBEST this saturday. it's a basic knowledge test that starts you towards getting your teachers licence. i don't think it'll be too much terrible trouble but i'm kinda nervous about it anyway just because it's like, the first official thing that says "here, you're almost a teacher." heehee, yay!
UB was last night and one of the 8th grade girls (her name is Emily) wrote on the board "Emily - the tutor 4rom (that's from for you non-cool people) UB - is Mean!" *the non-cool people comment was mine* *and the specification that it was me came only after i told her that wasn't a very nice thing to say about herself* and the bottom of the exclaimation was a heart and she drew a heart around the whole thing. i dont' know if i can convey the significance to you guys, but it made me so amazingly happy my cheeks hurt i was smiling to much. :)

So that's about the update from my life. I hope all is going well with you guys and that this didn't bore you too much, i sometimes think most of the rambling is just me summarizing my life so i know what's going on and you guys just happen to be privy to it. weird.

smile! :D
