Random Thought
You ever think about where sayings come from, or what they originally meant?
The one currently in question is "...get a wild hair up my butt." Growing up, I always thought and spelled it as above. It really doesn't make much sense. I mean, the meaning is conveyed and all, but still, it doesn't make much sense.
A while back, and I really don't know why, it came to me that what if it was originally, "...a wild hare up my butt." While a little more graphic, it seems to make more sense.
There are many other sayings that I always find odd to see in print. As soon as I say that, though, I'm pressed to find a one to put down. The only one I can think of is 'buck naked' or 'buck naked'. It seems to come down to where you were raised as to which you use.
